About the Roles & Teams
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a Community Mental Health Service in one of two key locum roles. Both positions require experienced mental health professionals who are confident in acute assessment, risk management, and treatment planning in a regional healthcare setting.

Role 1: Acute Adult Mental Health (SRN 3+)

  • Provide acute mental health assessments, risk evaluations, and intervention planning.
  • Deliver psychiatric and consultant liaison nursing in a community setting.
  • Support individuals experiencing severe mental health crises, ensuring appropriate care pathways.
  • Deliver education and training sessions to enhance service capability.

Role 2: Child & Adolescent Mental Health (iCAMHS – CNS)

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and case management for children and adolescents with severe and enduring mental illness.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based intervention plans.
  • Work collaboratively with families, schools, and other health professionals to provide holistic care.
  • Primarily based in Northam, with potential to work in Narrogin or Merredin depending on service needs.
  • Orientation provided in Northam (1-2 weeks) for candidates new to WA Health systems.

Skills & Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (AHPRA) with experience in mental health nursing.
  • Expertise in acute mental health assessments, crisis intervention, and risk management.
  • Experience in psychiatric liaison nursing (Acute role) OR child & adolescent case management (CAMHS role).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a regional multidisciplinary team.
  • Cultural awareness and experience working with Aboriginal communities.
  • National Police Clearance, Working with Children Check & Vaccinations (or willingness to obtain).
