Role:
We are currently seeking skilled and experienced GPS Excavator Operators to join our growing team on a civil construction project in the Ipswich and Logan areas. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with GPS systems (Topcon & Trimble) in roadworks, earthworks, subdivisions, trenching, stormwater, and drainage. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a reputable Tier 2 contractor and work on a variety of exciting and challenging civil projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate GPS-enabled excavators for earthworks, grading, and trenching tasks.
  • Work on civil construction projects, including roads, subdivisions, stormwater, and drainage installations.
  • Perform excavation and backfilling in accordance with project plans and specifications.
  • Ensure all machinery is operated in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with site supervisors and project managers to ensure work is completed to specification and on schedule.
  • Maintain machinery in good working order and report any mechanical issues.
  • Assist with other site duties as required, including clearing and preparing sites for excavation.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience operating GPS Excavators on civil construction projects (roads, subdivisions, earthworks, drainage, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of GPS systems and machine control technology.
  • White Card.
  • Valid HR or higher driver’s license (preferred).
  • Ability to interpret plans and work autonomously.
  • High regard for safety and quality standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Experience working with trenching, stormwater, and drainage systems is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to work on a casual basis with the opportunity for permanent employment.
