The opportunity
Evolve Talent is seeking 2 X experienced HSEQ Manager (Day shift & Night shift) to join a industrial construction project based in the Yatala. This is a full-time, site-based contract role overseeing welding, pipe fitting, and high-risk construction activities on a large-scale recycling and manufacturing facility build.
The Role
Reporting to the On-Site Supervisor, you will provide expert Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) leadership and supervision to site-based welders, pipefitters, and associated labour.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring daily site presence, active engagement with workers, and complete ownership of documentation and compliance systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily visible HSEQ leadership
- Conduct pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, and safety observations.
- Oversee compliance with SWMS, permits, and high-risk activity controls.
- Documentation & Compliance Develop and maintain SWMS, JHAs/JSAs, Take-5s, and Safe Operating Procedures.
- Manage high-risk permits (hot works, confined space, excavation, isolation).
- Lead Incident investigations, reporting and corrective actions
- Promote continuous improvement and a positive safety culture
To be successful you must bring:
- Minimum 5 years’ HSEQ experience on major construction or industrial projects
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or higher).
- QLD White Card.
- Strong working knowledge of Queensland WHS legislation and Codes of Practice.
- Proven experience managing high-risk trades (welding, piping, structural steel).
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining HSEQ documentation systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Current driver’s licence and ability to pass site medical and inductions.
