💰 Salary: SCHADS 7 – $115,460.22 + Super + Salary Packaging + 5 Weeks Annual Leave

About the Role & Organisation
A leading provider of human services, our client operates in urban, regional, and remote NT, supporting financial wellbeing and inclusion. As the Financial Counsellor Manager, you will lead a dedicated team delivering financial counselling and capability services in the East Arnhem region. Your work will be strengths-based, culturally responsive, and advocacy-driven, ensuring financial support services are accessible and effective.

About the Service
The team provides financial counselling, capability-building programs, and financial literacy education to individuals and families experiencing financial hardship. The service is embedded in a community-focused approach, working alongside Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs), government, and local service providers.
Role requires periodic out of hours work and regional/interstate travel
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and support a multidisciplinary team, ensuring best practice financial counselling.
- Provide supervision, mentoring, and training opportunities for staff.
- Foster a culturally safe and inclusive workplace that supports professional growth.
Program & Service Delivery
- Oversee financial counselling and capability programs, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Embed strengths-based and trauma-informed approaches in all financial wellbeing initiatives.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key community and government stakeholders.
Advocacy & Community Impact
- Promote financial literacy education and systemic advocacy to improve financial outcomes for clients.
- Ensure programs are tailored to meet the needs of remote and Indigenous communities.
- Contribute to policy discussions and sector reform efforts.
Operational Management & Compliance
- Manage program budgets, reporting, and performance measures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant funding agreements, policies, and regulations.
- Oversee risk management, WHS, and workplace compliance.
Skills & Requirements
✔ Higher education qualifications in Human Services / Social Science / Health. 2.
✔ Diploma of Financial Counselling & Registration with a professional body.
✔ Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial counselling, financial wellbeing, or social inclusion services.
✔ Proven leadership experience in staff, program, or project management (minimum 5 years)
✔ Strong understanding of poverty, social exclusion, and systemic financial issues.
✔ Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working in regional or remote settings.
✔ Current NT Working with Children Check (Ochre Card), National Police Check & Driver’s Licence.
