About the Roles & Client:
We are seeking dynamic professionals for two positions within a busy and innovative youth mental health service in Darwin: Senior Clinician and Clinician. Both roles are key to supporting young people aged 12-25 and their families through evidence-based interventions delivered within the Australian Early Psychosis Program (AEPP) framework.
As a Senior Clinician, you will lead and mentor team members while providing advanced clinical care. The Clinician role focuses on assessments, goal-based interventions, and collaborative care planning, ensuring young people experiencing psychosis receive the support they need.
About the Service:
You will be working within a youth-focused mental health service offering specialized care for young people experiencing psychosis. Through a family-inclusive and strengths-based approach, the service provides evidence-based treatment, vocational support, and community engagement activities, ensuring a holistic recovery journey for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Role 1: Senior Clinician
- Deliver clinical assessments, therapy, and case management for young people and their families.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and supervision to team members.
- Manage clinical risks, safety planning, and service quality initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance service delivery and understanding of early psychosis.
- Support quality improvement and training activities.
Role 2: Clinician
- Conduct bio-psycho-social assessments and targeted interventions for young people experiencing psychosis.
- Develop collaborative safety and care plans for clients and families.
- Provide culturally safe and inclusive care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.
- Maintain clinical records and uphold data quality standards.
- Support community awareness and stakeholder engagement activities.
Skills & Requirements:
For Both Roles:
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Nursing.
- Registration with AHPRA or relevant professional body (e.g., AASW).
- Strong skills in risk assessment, safety planning, and evidence-based interventions.
- Commitment to working with diverse and culturally sensitive populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Senior Clinician:
- Experience in providing leadership, mentoring, and supervision within a mental health team.
- Knowledge of early psychosis and related interventions.
- Demonstrated practice skills in the delivery of CBT for psychosis and other mental health difficulties.
Clinician:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in delivering goal-focused and collaborative care for young people within a multi-disciplinary mental health or youth service setting
