About the Role:

As a Nurse Practitioner you will be supporting across multiple aged care facilities within the Newcastle region of NSW.

Your role will ensure that all residents receive your expert assessment and management of residents care through the application of your nursing knowledge and skill set.

This may encompass, but is not limited to, directly referring residents to other healthcare professionals, prescribing medications, and ordering diagnostic investigations.

Main Duties

  • Provide expert clinical guidance of care, assessments/intervention and consultations to residents & family members
  • Ensure open & collaborative communication between all key stakeholders to include management, doctors & other health professionals surrounding resident care
  • Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, training & development of clinical team members
  • Ensure compliance & quality indicators are met in line with industry standards

Skills & Requirements:

  • AHPRA Registered Nurse registration with Nurse Practitioner endorsement
  • Post Graduate qualifications as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Up to date working knowledge of accreditation standards, government legislation & policies.
  • Proven experience with the creation of resources to support education, along with relevant information for residents/consumers, caregivers, and professionals.
  • Consultative & effective communication skills.
