About the Role:
We are seeking an Electrical / Mechanical Instrument & Controls Operator / Maintainer within the industrial and renewables sector. This role will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of a 3-unit Open Cycle Gas Turbine (OCGT) within the renewables space. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of sectors, including Gas Fuel Systems, Water Treatment Systems, High Voltage (HV), and Low Voltage (LV).
This position offers the chance to be involved in maintenance, preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, repairs, small installations, and planned inspections. You will also play an active role in implementing improved systems, ideas, and projects for the facility. The role provides an excellent opportunity to work both autonomously and as part of a team with top-tier professionals, where your ideas and contributions will help enhance the facility’s performance.

About You:
The ideal candidate will have experience overseeing all aspects of power plant operations and maintenance. Key responsibilities will include:
Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
Monitoring power plant equipment and systems for optimal performance, taking corrective action as necessary.
Supervising power plant personnel and offering preventative maintenance suggestions to improve systems.
Performing daily inspections to ensure equipment efficiency.
Carrying out isolation and permitting operations around HV equipment.
Skills & Experience:
Extensive experience within power generation or allied heavy industries.
Strong knowledge of DCS, PLC, SCADA/HMI, and associated control system networks.
Expert understanding of HV switch-gear and electrical protection systems.
Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and P&IDs.
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications, including Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and CMMS.
In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical materials and fittings.
Proven ability to demonstrate safe work processes and procedures.
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug & alcohol testing and a fit-test.
Qualifications:
Electrical, mechanical, process, or chemical engineering degree, or an electrical, instrumentation, or mechanical trade qualification with post-trade engineering qualifications and significant experience in power generation.
Current C Class Driver’s License and Right to Work in Australia (essential).
Work Health and Safety qualifications (desirable).
High Voltage (HV) Switching Operations (desirable).
Turbine Operator High-Risk Work License (desirable).
Type-B Industrial Gas Fitters Licence (desirable).
Current CPR, First Aid, and LV Rescue certification (desirable).
Working at Heights and Confined Space Accreditation (desirable).
