The Opportunity
Evolve Safety is teaming up with a construction / utilities company to find a Safety Advisor to commence on an immediate basis. This position will commence on a contract basis with a view to convert a permanent role.
This role will be based in Northern Beaches with some travel to western suburbs of Sydney. There will be a tool of trade that this candidate will have access to when traveling to different sites.
The Role
Reporting into the Head of Safety and supporting the onsite Safety Business Partner, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of employees and contractors on this site, and promote a strong safety culture throughout the organisation. The successful candidate will be familiar with, hazard reporting, safety observations, and investigation skills.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct hazard reporting, safety observations, and incident investigations in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Monitor and maintain a safe work environment for all employees and contractors on site.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and develop plans to mitigate them.
- Manage and maintain safety records and documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
- Maintain a strong safety culture throughout the organization by promoting safe work practices and leading by example.
To be successful you must bring:
- Cert IV OHS qualification
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a safety role, preferably in a field based role
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate safety messages to employees and contractors at all levels of the organisation
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop effective strategies to mitigate safety risks
- Ability to start immediately (Max 2 weeks’ notice)
