About the Role & Service
Join a specialist advocacy and clinical support team dedicated to providing trauma-informed care for individuals impacted by sexual violence, domestic and family violence, and child protection matters.
In this permanent full-time role, you will provide direct therapeutic support, clinical governance, and advocacy for victim-survivors, working alongside multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to ensure best-practice service delivery. While primarily based in Mount Isa, there may be opportunities to engage with remote communities.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Clinical Practice
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based trauma therapy and crisis interventions
- Conduct risk assessments, case management, and forensic coordination
- Apply expertise in psychology or social work to complex cases with minimal supervision
🔹 Leadership & Service Development
- Provide expert advice and training to healthcare professionals and stakeholders
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices
- Lead quality improvement and research initiatives to enhance service delivery
🔹 Community Collaboration & Advocacy
- Build strong partnerships with external agencies (police, legal services, health providers)
- Offer court support, victim advocacy, and forensic process guidance
- Engage in community education and prevention initiatives

Skills & Requirements
✅ Degree & Registration:
- Psychologists – Full registration with AHPRA
- Social Workers – AASW membership
✅ Expertise in trauma-focused interventions for sexual assault survivors
✅ Experience in case management, risk assessment, and multidisciplinary collaboration
✅ Strong communication & leadership skills in complex service environments
✅ Ability to travel to remote communities as needed
