This $13bn mega-hydro project in regional NSW will be giving Civil Construction, Engineering, and HSE professionals the opportunity to contribute to Australian sustainable energy infrastructure. As the Site Project Engineer – Underground, you will have the following responsibilities:
- You will maintain the highest standard of health & safety, implementing safety plans, leading by example with colleagues, team members; and acting in accordance with health & safety policies.
- Ensure the employer’s requirements are being met at all times, and the contractor is complying with the IFC Construction Documentation, working proactively to prevent short, medium and long-term legacy issues which could compromise the asset performing the way it is designed to.
- Maintain constant communication with your direct Manager on the status of issues observed and requiring mitigation in the field, so that the appropriate solutions are implemented in a timely fashion. A primary function of this role is not just to attend site and record progress, but to proactively work with all site parties to achieve the highest standard of permanent and temporary works, and minimise future legacy issues associated with quality and safety and functionality of the same.
- Provide guidance that may be required by the Employer, the Contractor and any 3rd party to ensure construction productivity is maintained safely and to specification.
- Comply with Corporate Governance procedures.
- Where required, provide guidance to the Contractor to coordinate with Safety, and Environmental Assurance Officers, and Surveillance Officers to ensure the project is complying strictly with the day-to-day deliverables such as toolbox sessions, work method developments and implementation for the Civil works.
- Provide daily and weekly reports to the Project Manager as required in relation to progress, and quality issues occurring on the project.
- Ongoing review the Contractor’s activities, with the aim of detecting any deficiency of performance before the occurrence of delays or a reduction in quality of the work.
- Ensure construction works are carried out in accordance with the latest IFC drawings, specifications and other relevant documents; Detect and immediately report to the relevant Manager any discrepancies, omissions or faults in such documents, including recommended measures to be taken.
- Provide guidance when necessary so that all inspections, tests, acceptances and remedies will be carried out in the best interest of the project, in accordance with the latest revision of the design.
Role Requirements:
- Degree qualifications in Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years experience working on large scale, civil engineering infrastructure projects with a focus on underground construction.
