Salary:
* Clinician (Level 5, SCHADS Award): $93,860 – $98,112 + super + salary packaging
* Mental Health Clinician (Level 6, SCHADS Award): $100,341 – $104,637 + super + salary packaging

About the Roles & Organisation
Join a purpose-driven, not-for-profit community organisation that’s been supporting Central Queensland for decades. These roles sit within a highly respected youth mental health service delivering early intervention and holistic support to young people aged 12-25 through the headspace model. You’ll work in a supportive, youth-friendly environment that promotes inclusion, empowerment, and recovery.
We are currently recruiting for two vital roles:
- Clinician – 1 x Full-time (76 hrs/fortnight), 1 x Part-time (38 hrs/fortnight)
- Mental Health Clinician – Full-time (76 hrs/fortnight)
Both roles are based in Emerald, offering the opportunity to make meaningful community impact while enjoying a relaxed lifestyle. Relocation support will be negotiated for the right candidates.

About the Service
The servoce provides young people with access to psychologists, social workers, mental health nurses, GPs, AOD workers, and vocational support in a welcoming and youth-friendly space. The service offers individual and group support, outreach, community engagement, and multidisciplinary care coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Counselling & Case Management
- Deliver evidence-based psychological therapies and care coordination
- Conduct clinical assessments and develop collaborative, person-centred treatment plans
- Provide individual, group, and family-based interventions
- Engage young people from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
Team Collaboration & Clinical Leadership (Mental Health Clinician role)
- Provide clinical guidance and support within a multidisciplinary team
- Participate in care review and escalation processes
- Lead group interventions and contribute to service development activities
Risk & Safety Planning
- Conduct complex risk assessments and develop safety plans
- Ensure timely referrals and care escalation where appropriate
Community & Service Development
- Represent headspace Emerald at community events
- Support awareness and engagement activities in collaboration with the engagement team
- Contribute to a positive team culture and service innovation
Skills & Requirements
Clinician Role (Level 5)
- Tertiary qualification in social work, counselling, psychology, mental health nursing, or occupational therapy
- Provisional or full registration with AHPRA, AASW, or ACA (Level 1 minimum; Level 2-3 preferred)
- Experience working with young people in a mental health setting
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapies and youth-friendly practices
Mental Health Clinician Role (Level 6)
- Approved allied health qualification with full registration (AHPRA or AASW)
- Mental Health Accreditation required (e.g. AASW mental health credential)
- Extensive experience in youth mental health, including assessment and intervention
- Strong leadership and communication skills
Other Requirements (All roles):
- Current Blue Card & Yellow Card (or eligibility to obtain)
- Current Queensland Open Driver’s Licence
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
- Ability to work in Australia
